Chambers — Ronald Eugene Haake, 88, of Chambers, died Saturday, July 27, 2024 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill.

Visitation was held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Chambers.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at the church in Chambers.

Burial was in the Chambers Cemetery in Chambers.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill was in charge of the arrangements.

Ronald was the third of five children born to Walter and Verda (Schipman) Haake on May 5, 1936. He attended rural school through the eighth grade and graduated from Chambers High School in 1954.

He was united in marriage to Marlene Ermer in Oct. 1957. To this union three daughters were born LaDonna, Jolene and Sue.

Ron was always a farmer and rancher at heart. His dream came true when a family friend asked him to rent their farm. This became his home for the next 61 years.

  Ron is survived by his wife of 66 years Marlene of Chambers; three daughters LaDonna Haake-Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD, Jolene (Mike) Freeman of Ainsworth and Tarilyn Sue (Roy) Kloppenborg of Chambers; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister Dorothy Hagemier of Nokomis, IL; one brother Larry (LaDonna) Haake of Thedford; two sisters-in-law Doris Haake of Wentzville, MO and Kathy Ermer of O'Neill; one brother-in-law Eugene Ermer of Battle Creek, MI; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Verda (Schipman) Haake, one sister Lorraine Haake, one brother Donald Haake and one son-in-law Mark Johnson.
