Right now is a good time to be an Eagle basketball fan, as they have recently been dominating the court. Last Tuesday the Eagles hosted Wagner and sent them packing.

The girls took the stage against the Red Raiders at 6 p.m. It started rough initially, with the Eagles holding a significant 11-point deficit. Quarter two did them no favors when they trailed behind a further one point.

Down at half, the Eagles were in a tough spot. They kicked it into high gear and started things with a dominant 16-6 third quarter. With victory now in sight, the girls pushed through and made the ultimate comeback, downing Wagner 55-46.

Hannah Hilker clutched the game with 19 points, five rebounds and one steal; Mariah Kallhoff had 10 points and 11 rebounds; Taylor Young 10 points, two rebounds and one steal; Bergyn Classen six points, four rebounds and two steals; Ashley Sidak five points and one rebound; Mady Heiss four points, eight rebounds and one steal; Olivia Young one point, one rebound and one steal; Rylee Selby one rebound and steal and Serena Chavez one steal.

A little later, the boys had their chance to shine.

The Eagles pulled ahead early on and never slowed down. In the first half, they led by just three points. The boys played some solid defense and never allowed Wagner to catch up. In the end, the Eagles took the game 58-48 and claimed yet another victory.

Braxen Eichelberger boasted 16 points, two rebounds and one steal; Trevor Alder had 12 points, three rebounds and rebounds and one steal; Turner Heiss nine points, six rebounds and three steals; Brady Eichelberger nine points, five rebounds and one steal; Porter Mathews seven points, nine rebounds and two steals; Ryder Kelly three points: Caleb Laursen two points and three rebounds and Westen Kohl two rebounds and one steal.

The Eagles were scheduled to host GACC on Friday, Jan. 24, but a shortage of players on the opposition's end forced them to cancel, and the game was postponed to Monday, Feb. 10.
