Last week, the Cardinal's long-running win streak ended abruptly when they encountered EPPJ. It was Friday, Feb. 21, and the Cards made a visit to Elgin to face a 13-9 Wolfpack. Right out the gate, the Cardinals took a nosedive, falling behind 22-10 early on. They fared better in the second act, but they still had some catching up to do. The Wolfpack continued to pile up points in the post-halftime game. The Cards made one last push to take the match, going 24-18 in the final quarter. Overall, EPPJ managed to eke out the win 69-65. Gage Hedstrom had a huge night, sinking 27 points as well as having five rebounds. Logan Brabec also scored high with 20 points and five rebounds. Drake Berg had 12 points, Ben Barlow six points and eight rebounds, Eli Banks had three rebounds and James Eby had two. They ended with an 18-5 record, and they had a long-lasting win-streak of eight games from Jan. 23 through Feb. 13.
