Jill Hipke

Stuart — Jill Hipke, 67, of rural Stuart, died Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at her home north of Stuart.

Visitation was held Sunday, July 21, 2024 at Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson with a prayer service

Visitation continued Monday, July 22, 2024 at the First Presbyterian Church in Atkinson.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 22, 2024 at the church in Atkinson. 

Pallbearers were Augustus Hipke, Thane Taylor, Jess Hipke, Will Hipke, Logan Hipke, Dustin Lofquist and Joshua Richardson.

Honorary pallbearers were all of Jill's grandchildren Sandy Brauer, Terri Mitchell, Jean Baumeister, Shelia Parks, LaJean Hipke, Vencille Hipke, Tami Painter, Terri Kallweit and Rhonda Garrison.

Graveside services were held Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Cleveland Cemetery north of Stuart.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Loving wife and mother Jill Hipke passed away at her home on the ranch north of Stuart on July 17, 2024. Her family was by her side. 

Jill was born March 22, 1957, to George and Nellie (Truman) Christiansen in Atkinson. 

She married Wynn Hipke on Sept. 20, 1975, in Stuart. Four children were born to this union Renee, Kyle, Lanell and Russell. 

Jill loved to work in her flower beds and her garden. She had beautiful flowers around her house all summer long. Her wonderful garden provided the most plentiful produce, which helped grow her passion for canning. Jill loved the outdoors: swimming and floating the river, fishing, rock and artifact hunting, riding horses and caring for all of her animals. 

She was an active member of the American Quarter Horse Association for over 30 years. 

Jill enjoyed taking care of people, be it through cooking and feeding everyone that came through her door, or through her job, where she was a wonderful caregiver for over 20 years of service to elderly and special needs individuals of the community and surrounding area. 

Actively involved in her community, Jill served in various positions as a 4-H leader, Sunday school teacher, elder in the Cleveland Presbyterian Church and member of the Cleveland Bible Camp board. 

Jill was so artistic in so many ways. Photography, sewing, painting, drawing, jewelry-making—she could do it all and do it beautifully. She was always on the go and working on one project or another. She had a vision for her many projects, and they always turned out stunning. 

Jill was a wonderful mother, wife and friend who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom and love in abundance. She was full of love and laughter, but also strength, determination and resilience. She touched the lives of all who knew her. Jill was always so strong. She never complained, even when she was in pain during her two-and-a-half-year battle with pancreatic cancer. She taught us the power of prayer and waiting on the Lord's timing. Jill set a high standard of work ethic, faith, love, wisdom, strength and determination for her family and loved ones to follow. 

Jill is survived by her husband Wynn Hipke; four children Renee (Gabe) Taylor of Valentine, Kyle (Katherine) Hipke of Stuart, Lanell (Zeb) Graham of Valentine and Russell Hipke of Stuart; three sisters Judy Dye of Norfolk, Joyce Reiser of O'Neill and Janice McGuire of Ainsworth; brother Rodney Christiansen of Wichita, KS; 10 grandchildren Gracey, Thane, Keene, Emmet Taylor, Augustus, Orrin and Eli Hipke and Dalton and Kwynn Graham; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her father George and mother Nellie Christiansen; one brother Rodger Christiansen; one sister Jean Christiansen; father-in-law Russell Hipke and mother-in-law Helen Hipke; three brothers-in-law Ray Reiser, Jim Dye and Gary Caffee; and one sister-in-law Frances Hipke.
