Neon Lights To Play In O'Neill This Saturday

Nov 23, 2022 (0)

Members of the band, Neon Lights, set to play here in O'Neill on Saturday.

An up and coming rock band that has played more than half a dozen shows since they formed just earlier this summer will be playing their first show in O'Neill on Saturday, Nov. 26th at the O'Neill Community Center. The band has quickly become a crowd favorite in the Norfolk area with their set list, own originals, and perhaps even maybe their youthfulness. Neon Lights features O'Neill's own Emma Sedlacek, 17, as the band's lead singer. Other band members include lead guitarist Tyler Throener, bassist Adrian Barritt, and drummer Madux Cleveland, all of Norfolk.

In 2021 Tyler Throener (guitarist) helped Adrian Barritt (bassist) write and produce an original song. A short while after that, Tyler had decided to preform live and invited Adrian to help. Both enjoyed the feeling of playing live so much that Tyler recruited the drummer, Madux Cleveland,  from the previous band he was in. With Madux in the band it was clear there was a lot of potential. Shortly after the Midwest Music Center program Rock Band Camp was in full swing, Tyler met a skilled young singer by the name of Emma Sue. After hearing her cover a Green Day song, Tyler offered her a spot in the band. Now the band is making records and playing all over Nebraska!

he band's set list includes 90s and early 2000s songs by Green Day, Avril Lavigne, Fall Out Boy but also some of today's hits from Paramore, Taylor Swift, and more. The band also performs a couple of their own originals, Die Inside and Nobody, written by Sedlacek. Die Inside can be downloaded on most music streaming platforms like Apple Music, Spotify and Sound Cloud.

Doors to the Community Center will open at 7:30 p.m., with music starting at 8 p.m. on Saturday night. Admission is $5 and is an event for all ages. The Knights of Columbus will have the bar open for those 21 and older.
