BRONCO (25) BEN PAXTON is swarmed by CWC Renegades as he desperately looks to the net during game 11 of the NVC Conference.

The NVC Conference wrapped up last week, and the Stuart Broncos landed themselves a commendable third overall place. They played their first round Saturday, Feb. 1 against Niobrara/Verdigre and downed them 70-32 and advanced.

On Monday, Feb. 3, they faced EPPJ and suffered a loss. The Broncos held their ground against their opponent, but the second-quarter pressure got the best of them, and the Wolfpack overpowered them.

Hunter Tubbs managed to score big with 20 points and 12 rebounds; Kayde Ramm had seven points and two steals and Drew Schmaderer had two points and five rebounds.

The Broncos had a chance at redemption when they faced CWC on Saturday, Feb. 8.

The boys got off to a rocky start, trailing by four points in the first half of the game. A tie in the third stanza made it look as though the Broncos' Tournament time was coming to a disappointing end. The boys kicked things into high gear and put on some serious pressure. The final buzzer rang and quarter our read 19-14. The Broncos managed to clutch the victory right at the end with a 52-51 win for the night.

Schmaderer crushed it with 19 points, 10 rebounds and two steals; Ramm was just behind with 19 points, six rebounds and two steals; Ben Paxton had seven points; Tubbs four points and 10 rebounds and Jameson Estill three points and two steals.

The Broncos did a good job at this year's conference. They won two of their matches, and they gave the crowd some great entertainment. Their record for this year is at 13-5.
