Last week saw little action from the O'Neill Eagle boys when they took on Battle Creek in Sub-Districts Friday, Feb. 19. This was a heated match, however, as it came down to just a few points difference for the win. Quarter one kicked off with the Eagles taking charge, taking it 12-11. The next quarter once again saw the Eagles take another one point lead, this time 18-17. At the halfway point, the Eagles choked the third quarter and stumbled nine points behind the Braves. Desperate to save the match, the Eagles made one last attempt to save themselves. The finale was a solid 17-13 from the Eagles, but it didn't fill the void left behind from the third. The Braves scraped by with a close 59-54 win. Turner Heiss scored a solid 15 points, shooting one of three three-pointers and four of eight two-pointers. Heiss also had three rebounds; Colton Osborne just behind with 12 points and five rebounds; Drew Morrow had 11 points, two rebounds and three steals; Trevor Alder six points, four rebounds and two steals; Brady Eichelberger three points, five rebounds and one steal; Ryder Pokorny three points, four rebounds and two steals; and both Porter Mathews and Grant Dusatko two points and two rebounds.
