The St. Mary's Cardinals hosted the Anselmo-Merna Coyotes last week on Saturday. The game got off to a rough start for the Coyotes when the Cards went on a tough offensive, leading by 14 points in the first quarter. The Cards kept up the pace in the second, leaving their adversary behind by 23 points. Going into the third quarter, the Coyotes knew they would have to up their game. They stayed laser focus, and played some good offense and were able to take the third. Quarter four the scores were very close, but the Cards had already left such an impression on the match in the first two sets, and took the win 64-41. Leading the boys to victory was Isaac Everitt with 19 points, shooting two of four three-pointers for 50 percent and six of 13 two-pointers for 46 percent, as well as 14 rebounds; Gage Hedstrom 18 points and nine rebounds; Sam Barlow nine points and four rebounds; Carson Dannenbring nine points and two rebounds; Dalton Alder five points and six rebounds; Risken Dawson four points and four rebounds; and Kyle Pribil one rebound.
