After a couple of rough patches in their match-ups, the O'Neill Eagles football team have gotten another solid win to their name. On Friday, Oct. 13 the Eagles hosted the West Point-Beemer Cadets and dominated by a score of 28-0 despite the rainy weather conditions turning the field to mud. The Eagles got a great head-start during the first Quarter when they held down the Huskies 14-0. Quarters two and three saw the Eagles up their score by six both times, while still holding the Cadets to 0. The final round the Cadets were still unable to make it past the Eagles and easily fell 28-0. Porter Mathews led the Eagle rushing with 23 carries for 139 yards and two touchdowns; Grady Welke eight carries for 25 yards; Drew Morrow six carries for 12 yards and one touchdwon; Oliver Schluns four carries for 17 yards; Braxen Eichelberger two carries; and Westen Kohl and Colten Shoemaker both one carry. Leading the Eagle's defense was Pryor Mathews with 15 tackles; Tucker Shabram 13; Reese Grosch 10; Grady Welke nine; Porter Mathews eight; Oliver Schluns six; Maddox Hammerlun five; Colton Osborne four; Easton Cook three; Ryder Pokorny, Dominic Hamilton, Noah Manchester and James Grenier all two each; and Hunter Wilson, Drew Morrow, Colten Shoemaker and Jackson Larsen all one tackle.
