Stuart Boys Come Out On Top In Landslide Victories

Dec 14, 2022 (0)

The Stuart Broncos boys had a good few games last week. They faced off against three other schools, and managed to defeat two. The first game was against the Bloomfield Bees last Tuesday.

The first set had a slow start, with the Broncos only putting up eight points, while the Bees managed 14. Quarter two started to pick things up. Both teams scored more points, but the Bees were still holding the Broncos to just 23 points going into the second half.

Quarter three was the turning point of the match. The Broncos went on the offensive and managed to score 21 points. The Bees weren't able to break through their opponents tough defensive wall, and only scored six point in the third. The Broncos were now on track to lead, but unfortunately for them, the Bees played better than before and stole the game right from under the Broncos feet by three points right at the end.

Leading this match was Schuyler Mustin with 22 points and five rebounds; Anthony Heiser 12 points and five rebounds; Ben Paxton eight points and six rebounds; Kayde Ramm five points; Drew Schmaderer four points; and Hunter Tubbs four rebounds.

The Broncos next game came last Friday when they faced off with the Twin Loup Wolves.

The Broncos started off hot with a 16 point lead in the first quarter, and by the halfway mark, they were dominating by almost 40 points.

The rest of the match wasn't much different. The Wolves weren't able to break through the Broncos rock-solid defense. In the end, the Broncos defeated the Wolves in a landslide victory, winning by 52 points.

Mustin still leads with 18 points and six rebounds; Heiser 11 points and six rebounds; Schmaderer eight points; Tubbs seven points; Ramm six points; Ben Paxton six rebounds; and Will Paxton five rebounds.

The Broncos final game of the week brought them to Cody to face off against the Cody-Kilgore Cowboys on Saturday.

The Broncos set out to prove they were not messing around, and in the first quarter alone, laid down an impressive 31 points, while holding the Cowboys to only four. In the second, the Broncos scored 17 more points, bringing them to a staggering 34 point lead by the half way point.

The Cowboys would have to make a huge comeback at this point, and unfortunately for them, they weren't able to manage it. The last few sets produced some low scores from both teams, but the Broncos had such a booming start, that nothing could've taken them down.

Mustin takes the lead for the final time in the week with 21 points and eight rebounds; Heiser 14 points and six rebounds; Tubbs 13 points; Ramm four points; Ben Paxton nine rebounds; and Owen Littau six rebounds.
