Second Annual Poker Run To Benefit 

Leprechaun Sports Club

The O'Neill Chamber of Commerce and the Hideaway will again be sponsoring the Irish Poker Run on Saturday, Aug. 20.

This year the benefits from the ride will go to the Leprechaun Sports Club.

Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Hideaway with a $20 registration fee. The ride will kick off at noon.

Come join us for a fun ride with door prizes to be awarded at the Hideaway at the conclusion of the ride. All proceeds for this years ride will be donated to the Leprechaun Sports Club.

The Leprechaun Sports Club is an organization that promotes sportsmanship and a learning environment for young athletes to gain confidence and sports skills that will benefit them in life on and off the field of competition. The club started out as a youth wrestling program and last year expanded to include football.  LYS participates in the Norfolk YMCA youth contact football program.  Sign ups and evaluations are held in early spring with practices starting in mid August.  Youth in grades 3rd - 6th grade practice two nights a week in O’Neill.  Games are played in Norfolk at the YMCA for six weeks on Sunday afternoons.

Last year LYS sponsored 48 players on four teams.  This year their numbers increased 30% enabling them to fill two 4th grade teams and two 6th grade teams.  The area is well represented with players from Atkinson, Butte, Clearwater, Ewing, O’Neill, Orchard and Spencer.
