Ryan Owen and Nate Brown claimed individual golds and the Eagles also won three relays enroute to claiming top honors at the annual Ord Invitational held on Thursday April 27th at Bussel Park. O'Neill edged St. Paul 130 to 126 in a see-saw battle that came down to the final event of the day. Owen's win came in the long jump (17-03), while Brown lowered his 800 time by about two seconds. He posted a mark of 2:16.92. The relay wins came in the 400 relay, the 7th grade 400 relay and 1600 relay. All three quartets recorded their best time to date. In the 400 relay, the team of Braxen Eichelberger, Brown, Paul Fonseca and Owen sprinted to a mark of 49.82. The 7th grade team of Maguire Heiss, David Nunez Garcia, Tavin Morrow and Ryker Sudbeck was first across in 55.29. Running the combination of Colton Shoemaker, Brock Latzel, Fonseca and Brown for the first time this season, the 1600 team finished in a time of 3:58.31. O'Neill also had second place finishes from Latzel in the high jump (5-2), Cort Chohon in the vault (8-6), Brown in the 100 (12.36), Owen in the 200 (25.99), Latzel in the 400 (59.55), Fonseca in the 100 hurdles (16.20) and Fonseca in the 200 hurdles (28.49).
