OHS JH Girls Tie For First Place at Mid States Meet

After a disappointing cancellation to the JH Mid States Conference Meet last weekend, the Lady Eagle track team finished up the season at the Ord Junior High Invite on Thursday April 27, 2023. Many personal records were set in the field events. 

Mariah Kalhoff had a new PR in the Shot Put with a throw of 28' 7” to earn 2nd place. Mady Heiss had a leap of 31' 4.5” for a new PR in the triple jump, earning her first place in the event. Heiss was also able to jump 13' 6.5” in the long jump for 2nd place. Grace Drueke had a personal best of 7' in the Pole Vault to earn 3rd place. 

On the track, Heiss raced to first place in the 100M dash and 200M dash, while Tenzlie Sorensen claimed 3rd place in the 200M. The 8th grade 4x100 team of Mia Lindsay, Grace Drueke, Hailey Fick and Nevaeh Allison earned third place with a time of 56.53 seconds. In the 7th grade division, Bailey Salers, Mariah Kalhoff, Bristol Scott, and Maliyah Maas ran a time of 1:01.56 for second place in their division. In the 200M Hurdles, Hailey Fick got 2nd place with a time of 34.43 seconds. 

As a team, the Eagles tied for first place overall with St. Paul with a score of 102 points.

100 meters: Grace Drueke - 4th

1600 meters: Addison Zuraff - 5th

100 hurdles: 5th - Mia Lindsay

Discus: 4th  - Autumn Jackson – new PR

Shot Put: 4th – Taylor Young
