Irish 'Toberfest Seeking Entries For Cook-Off

Sep 4, 2024 (0)

The O'Neill Community Center is gearing up to host the annual Irish 'Toberfest BBQ & Brew Wednesday, Sept. 14th.

Entries are still being taken for those wishing to participate in the cook-off from now until September 9th at 5 p.m. Entry fee for each team is $75 and no more than three people are allowed in a team.

The O'Neill Chamber of Commerce will supply the ribs but contestants must bring their own utensils, grill, sauces, etc. All grills must be on site and contestants must be present at 11 a.m. to qualify.

Registration for this year's Bean Bag Tournament is from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The fee is $30 with the top three teams walking away with cash prizes.

Gates open to the public at 11 a.m. on Sept. 14th, officially kicking off this year's Irish 'Toberfest. There's no time to waste as the Bean Bag Tournament begins at 11 a.m. with Home Brew sampling beginning at 1 p.m. Adults are welcome to sample local brews.

At 4 p.m. ribs will be served to the public. It's an all you can eat buffet with a small fee of $15 per adult and $5 10 and under. There are no to-go orders on ribs.

The excitement doesn't end there, as 6:30 p.m. brings the Nebraska Football Game to the big screen!

The ribs cooked during the cook-off will be judged at about 4 p.m. The top prize for first place is $500, with second receiving $300, third $200, fourth $150 and fifth $75, as well as people's choice prizes.

Get your team entered now with the registration form  at the O'Neill Chamber of Commerce website or call 402-336-2355 for more information.
