The Holt County Fair is just about a week away with 4-H events starting late next week and the main events being held Monday through Saturday, August 7-12 at the Holt County Fair Grounds in Chambers. Thursday, August 10 through Saturday, August 12 there will be a free carnival sponsored by Bomgaars, Casey's, Central Valley Ag, Holt County Farm Bureau, Chambers State Bank, Dexter Diesel, Emme Sand & Gravel, J&L Collision, J.E. Mueret Grain Co, Mitchell Equipment, Prairie Hills Ford, Tomjack Hay Inc., Triple R Tire and Willbur Ellis. At 5:30 p.m. there is the Cirque Adventure; 6:30 p.m. the Mutton Bustin' and 7 p.m. The Ranch Rodeo. On Friday, Aug. 11 the Cirque Adventure returns at 4 p.m.; 5 p.m. the Market Livestock Bonus Auction; 5:30 p.m. the Free Will BBQ; 6 p.m. the Cirque Adventure; 6:15 p.m. the AK-SAR-BEN Award; 6:30 Mutton Bustin; 7 p.m. Amped Up Bull Tour; 8 p.m. Cirque Adventure; at 9 p.m. the Casey Meussingman Band will play with a Beer Garden from 6 p.m. - 1 a.m to end off that day's events. Saturday Aug. 12 is the last day of the Fair with the Cirque Adventure at 2 p.m.; 3 p.m. the Kid's Pedal Pull; 4 p.m. the Cirque Adventure; 4-6 p.m. the Rib Cook Off (while ribs last); 6 p.m. Cirque Adventure; at 6:30 the Demolition Derby and car raffle. To conclude the night, at 9 p.m. the Midnight Rodeo Band will play, with a Beer Garden to round off the fair at 1:00 a.m.
