Stuart — Grant Alex Mlinar, 20, of Stuart, died Sunday, July 9th in Atkinson. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Seger Funeral Home in Atkinson with a 7 p.m. prayer service. Casual attire is requested by the family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Atkinson Community Center in Atkinson. Pastor Wayne Owens will officiate. Casual attire is requested by the family. Pallbearers will be Jackson Cadwallader, Max Roberts, Logan Weineke, Jakeem Brown, Tyler Larby, Grady Smith, Chance Engle and Jackson Butterfield. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Grant's friends. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Stuart. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Grant was born March 13th, 2003 in Fremont to Quinn and Lisa (Nickless) Mlinar. Grant attended and graduated from West Holt High School in Atkinson. Following graduation he attended Central Community College in Hastings. Grant was called to the workforce and worked in a variety of occupations. From diesel mechanic, ranch hand, feedlot pen rider and finally found his true calling as a truck driver. Grant's passion for cattle and love of the open road married a match made in heaven hauling cattle across the state. His favorite hobby was his race car. Grant raced religiously on Sunday nights at Stuart Raceway. His smile was contagious, and he never failed to crack a joke. He was respectful to all and went the extra mile for anyone. Grant was always putting everyone else's happiness above his. Some of his favorite things in life included being with friends, driving around, working on his racecar, haying the pasture and being with cattle. Grant is survived by his parents Quinn and Lisa Mlinar of Stuart; one brother Shane Mlinar of Hastings; grandparents John and Mary Nickless of O'Neill, Don Mlinar of Atkinson and Bill and Mary Opp of Lincoln; aunts and uncles Angie Jones of Omaha, Jon and Tammy Nickless of Imperial and Kurtis and Jamie Mlinar of Overland Park, KS; a special couple Cody and Ashley Hipke of Stuart; as well as numerous cousins, great-aunts and -uncles and friends. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
