On Sunday, January 12, 2025, at approximately 9:49 a.m. Ewing Fire and Rescue was called to the scene of a single-wide trailer home fire on south Spruce St. in Ewing. Upon arrival Ewing Fire Dept. found the west side of the trailer home was on fire and badly damaged. Preliminary investigation shows the fire is believed to have been caused by a 55-gallon drum located in the kitchen. Found deceased in the trailer home was the owner of the trailer home, 75-year-old Gary Braun. The Ewing Fire Department, Holt County Sheriff's Office, Holt County Attorney and State Fire Marshal's Office assisted in the response and investigation of the fire. The official cause of death is pending the results of a pathological autopsy.  (0) COMMENTS
