The O'Neill Eagles traveled to Plainview on Tuesday, Feb. 1 to take on the Pirates. The Eagles made easy work of the game, winning 67-25. The Eagles outclassed the Pirates in the first half of the match leading 35-18 at the half. The Eagles didn't let off the gas in the second half out scoring the Pirates 18-5 in the third. The bench got some play time in the fourth putting up 14 points and holding Plainview to two. Keaton Wattier led the Eagles with 20 points, shooting 77 percent in the two-point range and Wattier had 11 rebounds; Landon Classen came in a close second with 18 points, Classen had three rebounds and one steal; Kyler Dean had eight points, one rebound and two steals; Drew Morrow had seven points, three rebounds and five steals; Brady Sidak had four points, six rebounds and one steal; Colton Osborne had four points; and Tyler Diediker three points, two rebounds and one steal. The Eagles opened up with their fast-paced floor game, racking up 37 points in the first half on the Chants. The Chants managed to put up only 13 on the board before the half. The Chants put up buckets consistently in the second half racking up 30 on the Eagles. The Eagles managed to keep up their energy with 38 points. Classen took top honors with 19 points, 11 rebounds and three steals; Sidak also had three points and six rebounds; Morrow had 11 points, two rebounds and four steals; Wattier had four points, six rebounds and one steal; Brady Eichelberger had five points, one rebound and one steal; John Coats three points; Evan Kopecky two points, three rebounds and one steal; and Dean two points, two rebounds and one steal.
