The O'Neill Eagles competed Tuesday, April 5th, at the Battle Creek Invitational. Ten teams from Northeast Nebraska competed at the meet. The boys team placed fourth overall. The team scored 48.5 points. Senior Keaton Wattier won the 110 high hurdles with at time of 15.2. Freshman Pryor Mathews placed fourth with a personal best of 16.3. Sophomore Drew Morrow placed fifth in the 300 intermediate hurdles, and Wattier placed sixth. In the jumps Drew Morrow placed fourth in the triple jump with a season best of 38' 10”. Landon Classen also placed sixth in the triple with 38' 1 ½ “. Brady Sidak and Sean Coventry tied for fifth in the high jump. Joseph Engelbart placed sixth in the shotput with a throw of 44' 7”. Engelbart also placed third in the discus with a throw of 133' 5”. Landon Classen placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a season best of 2:10.7. The 4 x 800 with members of Brady Sidak, Landon Classen, Ty Rainforth, and Brady Thompson placed fourth. “Weather was less than ideal. It is important in those conditions not to worry about running fast, throwing, or jumping your best, but just to compete hard,” said Coach Hilker.
