On Sept. 8th, the Broncos traveled to the Butte Golf Course for the Boyd County Invitational with a modified 10:00 am start time due to heat. Competing in this meet were teams from Boyd County, EPPJ, Neligh/Oakdale, Niobrara/Verdigre, North Central, Santee, Summerland, and West Holt. Even though this was a smaller field, it was highly competitive, and we were pleased to see some improved times and strong performances. Luke Ludwig placed 6th in a time of 18:00 in the varsity boys race, while Jake Kohle raced to 1st place in the junior high boy's race with a time of 10:02. Ethan Welshons and Carter Welshons followed in 6th and 7th, respectively, finishing in 11:21 and 11:57. In the girl's junior high race, Annie Ludwig earned a 4th place medal in 10:16.
