The Broncos headed north on Aug. 30th to compete in the Gregory XC Invitational at the Gregory Golf Course. This meet included several teams from south-central South Dakota, such as Platte-Geddes, Bon Homme, White River, Jones County, Lower Brule, Wagner, Lyman, Andes Central/Dakota Christian, Tripp-Delmont/Armour, Scotland, Corsica-Stickney, Marty, Chamberlain, and the host school Gregory Gorillas. In the boy's varsity race, Luke Ludwig placed 3rd with a time of 19:15. In the junior high boy's race, Jake Kohle placed 4th in 9:08, with Ethan Welshons following close behind in 7th with a time of 9:20. Carter Welshons finished in 19th with a time of 10:23. For the junior high girls, Annie Ludwig raced to 4th place in 9:16, and Bella Hipke ran an improved time of 12:50 to place 21st.

On Sept. 8th, the Broncos traveled to the Butte Golf Course for the Boyd County Invitational with a modified 10:00 am start time due to heat. Competing in this meet were teams from Boyd County, EPPJ, Neligh/Oakdale, Niobrara/Verdigre, North Central, Santee, Summerland, and West Holt. Even though this was a smaller field, it was highly competitive, and we were pleased to see some improved times and strong performances. Luke Ludwig placed 6th in a time of 18:00 in the varsity boys race, while Jake Kohle raced to 1st place in the junior high boy's race with a time of 10:02. Ethan Welshons and Carter Welshons followed in 6th and 7th, respectively, finishing in 11:21 and 11:57. In the girl's junior high race, Annie Ludwig earned a 4th place medal in 10:16.
