The O'Neill Eagles closed their pre-Christmas season on a sour note, losing to Pierce, Summerland and Wayne. The Eagles played a tough contest on Tuesday, Dec. 17, falling to Pierce 67-33. They were outscored in every quarter. The Eagles last faced Pierce in December 2023, when they beat Pierce 60-38. Turner Heiss led the Eagles in this match with 10 points, nine rebounds and one steal; Trevor Alder eight points and one steal; Brady Eichelberger five points eight rebounds and one steal; Jackson Larsen three points and one rebound; Westen Kohl three points and two rebounds; Nate Brown two points and two rebounds; and Brock Latzel two points. The Eagles led in the first and second quarters, going into the half 28-23. Their fast-paced offense drug the Bobcats up and down the floor in the first half. The second half saw the Eagles unable to buy a shot, only putting up eight in the third and fourth stanzas. Heiss again led the Eagles with nine points, seven rebounds and one steal; Alder eight points and four rebounds; Porter Mathews seven points, nine rebounds and two steals; Larsen six points and one rebound; Brady Eichelberger two points, seven rebounds and one steal; Kohl two points and four rebounds; and Kaleb Laursen two points and two rebounds.
