After a strong beginning to their new basketball season, it seems the Eagle girls have begun to fumble. Last Tuesday the girls hosted Battle Creek and took their first loss. The Eagles got stomped the first half of the game, falling 39-18. It would take a miracle to turn the game around. The Eagles kicked the game into high-gear, first taking a 10-point tie in the third quarter. The finale the girls gave it their all but when the clock reached zero they still were faced with defeat. Taylor Young scored 10 points, three rebounds and one steal; Olivia Young had seven points, three rebounds and one steal; Mariah Kallhoff six points, three rebounds and one steal; Rylee Selby six points and two steals; Hannah Hilker five points, five rebounds and four steals; Bergyn Classen three points, six rebounds and one steal; Ashley Sidak two points, three rebounds and one steal and Mady Heiss one point. Once again the game started in the Trojan's favor, putting up 27 in the first half, while holding the Eagles to just 15. Quarter three the Eagles gave it all they had and snuck in a four-point win. By the end, however, things reset and the Trojans easily took home the gold 52-38. The Eagles tanked their record for the season down to 1-3.
