Basketball And Wrestling Start Next Week In County Schools

Next week, many area schools will be entering into winter season sports, including basketball and wrestling.

The O'Neill High School and St. Mary's varsity basketball teams will soon kick off their 2024-25 basketball season. On Thursday, Dec. 5, the O'Neill Eagles will host Valentine, with the girls taking the court at 6 p.m. and the boys taking over at 7:30 p.m. The St. Mary's Cardinals will be hosting Randolph at the same time across town.

Saturday, Dec. 7, wrestling will begin at O'Neill High School with the O'Neill Invite Wrestling Invitational against multiple schools at 9:30 a.m.

The Summerland Bobcats will start their season on Thursday, Dec. 5, at home against Neligh. The Stuart Broncos will travel to Niobrara to face the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars. CWC will host its season opener against Burwell, and West Holt will start its season on Friday, Dec. 6, hosting Creighton.
