The Lady Cards have advanced their record to 6-0 after wins over Winside on Tuesday, Aug. 29 and then on Thursday defeating Plainview and Summerland at Summerland. Tuesday the girls started at home, downing Winside 2-0; 25-16, 25-14. Mya Hedstrom led the Cardinals with 11 kills, one ace serve, one block and seven digs; Lorissa Reiman with nine kills, five ace serves, two blocks and four digs; Gracie Williamson with four kills, one block and one dig; Joslyn Eby with three kills and one block; Pyper Ickes two kills, two ace serves, and four digs; and Alyssa Brabec 25 set assists. On Thursday the Cards traveled to Summerland to take part in a triangular with Plainview. The Cardinals took on the Pirates of Plainview in their first match, easily dispatching them in two sets 25-12 and 25-11. Hedstrom led the Cards with five kills, one ace serve, one block and eight digs; Reiman two kills, two ace serves, four blocks and seven digs; Williamson two kills, two blocks and one dig; Brabec one kill, one ace serve, two digs and nine set assists; Ickes one kill, one ace serve, two blocks and four digs and Eby one kill, one ace serve and two digs. The Cards last game in the triangular was against the Bobcats with the Lady Cards winning the first set 25-22, 20-25 and 25-18. This brings them to a six win streak to start the new season off.
