Zula Ann Salers, 56, of O'Neill, formerly of Hickory, MS, died Monday, June 5, 2023 at her son's home south of Long Pine. Visitation was held Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Biglin's Mortuary in O'Neill. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the mortuary in O'Neill. Rick Nolze officiated. Burial was in the O'Neill Cemetery in O'Neill. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. Zula was born on Nov. 30, 1966 in Newton, MS to Claude Earl and Charlie Mae (Rogers) Little. She graduated from Hickory High School in 1984. She was a very strong woman. She worked for a time in a shirt factory, then worked several construction jobs and hauled pulpwood. She met Dennis “Duff” Nekolite and moved to O'Neill. Zula enjoyed collecting rocks, seeing the country with Duff and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Zula is survived by her two children Carrie (Jason Whelchel) Salers of Carmichael, CA and Zachary A. Salers of Long Pine; six grandchildren Presten Salers, Kiyah Salers, Caitlin Whelchel, Bailey Salers, Brody Salers and Brantley Salers; her two siblings Charlie Earl Little and Dian Parker, both of Hickory, MS; significant other Dennis "Duff" Nekolite of O'Neill; his four children Jennifer Nekolite, Amanda Nekolite, Kelly (Chris) Desive and DJ Nekolite; his nine grandchildren Jason, Kody, Darik, Christian, McKenzie, Alex, Olivia, Brihanna and Tra; 15 great-grandchildren; and many friends around the country. She was preceded in death by her father Claude E. Little, her mother Charlie Mae Little and Duff's son Mikey Nekolite.
