Omaha — Tony Shaw, 61, of Omaha, formerly of O'Neill, died Friday, Sept. 19, 2025 in Omaha.

Visitation was held on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025 at St. Stephen the Martyr Church in Omaha.

Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 26, 2025 at the church in Omaha.

Memorials may be made to the church or to the Nebraska Humane Society in Tony's name.

Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler Mortuariesin Omaha were in charge of the arrangements.

Tony, beloved father, husband, brother and friend, passed away on Friday, Sept. 19th, 2025 at the age of 61 in Omaha. Tony will be remembered for his quick wit, original jokes and the love he shared with everyone around him.

Tony was born on Nov. 12th, 1963 in O'Neill, to Ellen and Grover Shaw. He grew up in O'Neill, where he was always busy running around with siblings, getting involved at the school and beginning his athletic career at St. Mary's. 

Tony dedicated much of his life to the banking and finance industry, where he was known for his ability to take charge and make decisions. 

Beyond work, he was passionate about football, between playing, coaching and watching, with his biggest passion being Husker football. 

Aside from that, Tony was a devout Catholic who loved attending mass, confession and meeting with his bible group every week. 

Tony's greatest joy was his family. 

Friends and family will always remember Tony for his words of wisdom and the great times he provided around his campfire. His impact on those who loved him will last for generations.

Tony's memory will continue to inspire those who knew him. His love, lessons and laughter will never be forgotten.

Tony is survived by his wife Michelle; four children Derek, Jordyn, Dylan and Jared; his dog Roxy; his six siblings Julie (Terry), Mike, Shelly (Dave), Stephanie (Gary),  Heidi and Andrea (Tim); and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his mother Ellen and his father Grover.
