On Sept. 18th, 2024, seven students from Stuart High School traveled to O'Neill to attend Scrubs Camp hosted by Avera St. Anthony's Hospital and held at the Northeast Community College Extended Campus. Students had the opportunity to rotate through numerous stations visiting with healthcare professionals and taking part in interactive and hands-on opportunities including: Surgeon & General Surgery, Nursing, Physical Therapy & Occupational Therapy, Family Practice, Radiology, Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, Dietary and Support Services, Laboratory, Anesthesiology, Ambulance Services, and Avera Careers/Post-Secondary Schools. Students attending from Stuart were MaKayla Menke, Reagan Stracke, Elly Steinhauser, Addison Steinhauser, Cecelia Addison, Rylee Fuelberth and Chelseay Dennis. Students were treated to a delicious nacho lunch and were able to view the O'Neill ambulatory & fire service equipment on the site, along with the mobile SIM unit. The students found the day's event to be extremely exciting and advantageous as they look to pursue possible careers in the healthcare field. (0) COMMENTSWelcome to the discussion. |
