Nov 9, 2022 (0)

Stuart's Lacey Paxton - spikes the ball over the net in action at the Nebraska State Volleyball Tourney in Lincoln last Thursday, Nov. 3 against Howell's - Dodge.
Block - Lorissa Reiman goes up for a block against Addi Ketteler in action on Friday night at the NVC Volleyball final.

The Lady Broncos earned a ticket to State last week and came up against a tough opponent and eventual state champion in Howells- Dodge on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The Broncos went in eighth seed and Howells- Dodge in first seed. They were also last year D1 Champions. The Broncos played the Jaguars tough going back and forth in the first set. The Jaguars took the lead, and although the Broncos came back, they could not finish the first round off with a win. The second and third sets were both close at first, but unforced errors committed in both sets gave the Jaguars the lead and the Broncos could not catch up.

In the end, the score came out to be a 0-3 for the Broncos, 23-25, 17-25 and 16-25.

Lacey Paxton leads the Broncos for the final time in the 2022 season with 17 kills, one ace serve, 14 digs and two set assists; Sydney Estill 10 kills and nine digs; Reagan Stracke three kills, 18 digs and one set assist; Sarah Wallinger two kills, one ace serve, three digs and 10 set assists; Addison Steinhauser two kills; Addie Ketteler one kill, seven digs and 21 set assists; Trenadi Dodds eight digs; and Chianna Tubbs seven digs.

The Broncos finished 22-11 in the 2022 season, and along with a very short Junior Varsity season, the girls all made improvements and should have a very competitive team next year. The Stuart girls will lose four very talented Seniors in Trenadi Dodds, Sydney Estill, Chianna Tubbs and Sarah Wallinger. Each one of them provided different skills to make these last few years very successful. These girls helped lead the team two State, three Final four NVC Finishes and they always gave their ALL. We will miss them tremendously. The coaches and girls would like to thank all the community, students and parents this volleyball season for following them and supporting the team!
