CHAMBERS COMMUNITY CENTER FOUNDATION

RESOLUTION 

WHEREAS the Chambers Community Center Foundation leases the Community Center from the Village of Chambers, and 

WHEREAS the Chambers Community Center Foundation is responsible for the operation and regulation of the activities of the Chambers Community Center, and

WHEREAS, it is no longer feasible that that kitchen and restaurant areas within the Community Center be leased to a third party because of the difficulty of maintaining an ongoing business and the conflict that occurs for scheduling other Community Center events and activities, and

WHEREAS, it is proper to formalize such decision and inform the public of such action.

BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED by the Chambers Community Center Foundation that from this date forward, the Community Center will no longer lease the kitchen and former restaurant areas to any third party for use as a business and that such decision is for the best interest of the Community Center's use for the benefit of the public.

Notice of Town Hall Meeting

Public notice is hereby given, in compliance with the provisions of State Statute Sections 77-3444 (and 13-519), that the governing body will meet on the 20th day of September, 2023, at 7:00 P.M. at the Chambers Fire Hall. The purpose of this meeting is for registered voters of Conley Township (Village included) to vote on a levy allocation increase and to exceed the allowable growth percentage applicable to the lid on restricted funds.

The vote will be to allow a levy of property tax not to exceed 8 cents per one hundred dollars of taxable valuation and to increase the restricted funds base by $26,000, a 128% increase over the allowable growth percentage. A vote for this allocation allows the Conley Township to operate at the same level as in the past. Without this vote, allowable tax support will be cut approximately 38%. Your support will be appreciated.
