Notice in the County court of holt county, Nebraska

Case Number AD 24-1

In The Matter Of The Adoption Of

Omari Silas Martin,

A Minor Child

TO: JAIRO OR JIARO RAMOS AND ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE ADOPTION OF OMARI SILAS MARTIN:

Take notice that a Petition has been filed in the County Court of Holt County, Nebraska, by Christina Meyer and Theodore Meyer for the adoption of Omari Silas Martin. You have been identified as the biological father of Omari, pursuant to Affidavit of Identification of Father by Biological Mother, completed by Tara Martin.

As the biological father of the child in question, you have the right to deny paternity, waive any parental rights you may have, relinquish and consent to adoption of the child, file a Notice of Objection to Adoption and Intent to Obtain Custody pursuant to section 43-104.02, or object to the adoption.  In order to deny paternity, waive your parental rights, relinquish and consent to the adoption, or receive additional information to determine whether you are the father of the child in question, you must contact the undersigned agency or attorney representing the Petitioners. If you wish to object to the adoption and seek custody of the child, you must seek legal counsel from your own attorney immediately. Additionally, any parent or Indian custodian of the child, if not already a party to the child custody proceeding, has the right to intervene in the proceedings. The Indian Tribe has the right to intervene at any time in a State-court proceeding for the termination of parental rights to an Indian child. If the child's parent or Indian custodian is unable to afford counsel based on a determination of indigency by the court, the parent or Indian custodian has the right to court-appointed counsel. Any parent or Indian custodian of the child has the right to be granted, upon request, up to 20 additional days to prepare for the adoption proceeding.

Any parent or Indian custodian and the Indian child's Tribe has the right to petition the court for transfer of the termination-of-parental-rights proceeding to Tribal court as provided by 25 U.S.C. 1911 and § 23.115.

Hearing on the Petition for Adoption and Determination of Abandonment by Biological Father has been set before the County Court of Holt County, Nebraska, on April 15, 2024, at 11:00a.m. in the Holt County Courtroom, 204 N 4th Street, O'Neill, Nebraska 68763.
