This Thanksgiving holiday, the O'Neill Police Department is teaming up with the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on a high-visibility Make it Click seat belt awareness campaign. Nov. 23rd through Dec. 1st, the law enforcement community will be working together to reduce the number of fatalities that occur when vehicle passengers fail to buckle up. The O'Neill Police Department will ramp up its usual enforcement efforts, adding a significant increase in saturation patrols. Make it Click is a focused enforcement that saves lives. The goal is to protect citizens of this community, so we are spreading the message about the dangers of vehicle passengers traveling unbuckled.
