Yankton, SD — Melissa Ann Hysell, 52, of Yankton, SD, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton, SD. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025 at the funeral home in Yankton, SD. Honary pallbearers will be Clinton Millin, Mark Millin, Austin Millin, Heath Hysell and Dale Graase Jr. Melissa was born in Oregon to Rick and Rebecca (Smith) Harman. She grew up in Hot Springs, SD and graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1990. She married David Millin in 1992 and together had three sons Clinton, Mark and Austin. They moved to Sturgis, SD for a few years and then to Rapid City where Melissa worked at SCI helping to build computer components. They then moved to Hermosa, SD for a few years and then to Newcastle, WY where she worked at a coal mine as a train car operator. In 2012, she moved to Yankton, SD and worked at Vishay Dale Electronics and then at Parker Hannifin formerly Baldwin Filters. She married Chris Hysell in May 7, 2021 and began working as a receptionist for Grifols Biomat USA Plasma and Donation Center in Vermillion, SD. Melissa was a caring, welcoming, loving, woman who had a great smile and genuine love for people. She enjoyed playing video games, fishing and her animals Gracy Lou, Kaos, Julz and Cookie. Above all else, she loved her children and would do anything for them. Melissa is survived by her parent Rick and Rebecca Harman of Rapid City, SD; three brothers Michael Harman of Oregon, Steven (Dawn) Harman of Rapid City, SD and Gregory (Terri) Harman of Thorton, CO; husband Chris Hysell of Yankton, SD; three sons Clinton (Kylie) Millin of Box Elder, SD, Mark Millin and Austin (Cassie) Millin, all of Yankton, SD; one grandson on the way; one step-grandson Aaron Promes; best friends Jennifer Mincks and Robin Hoebelheinrich and special friends Bill and Linda Whipple.
