Pawleys Island, SC — Lawrence "Larry" E. Judge, 81, of Pawleys Island, SC, formerly of Atkinson, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 6, 2025.

A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate Larry's life. 

Memorials may be made to Christ the King Church, 9630 Ocean Highway, Pawleys Island, SC 29585, or to Mount Saint Scholastica, 801 South 8th Street, Atchison, KS 66002 in Larry's name.

Burroughs Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Murrells Inlet, SC is in charge of the arrangements.

Born on Jan. 14, 1944, in Atkinson, Larry was the son of the late Joseph and Ann Judge.

A proud graduate of St. Joseph Catholic High School in Atkinson and Tulsa University, Larry went on to build a long and successful career with Shell Oil. 

He brought diligence, kindness and a deep sense of responsibility to all he did, whether in the workplace, at home or among friends.

Larry was an active and beloved member of Christ the King Church and a longtime member of Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club, where he not only enjoyed the game of golf but also took great pride in organizing the Saturday morning men's golf group. 

He found joy in the little things—working in the yard, cheering on his beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers and St. Louis Cardinals and especially spending time with his family.

Larry cherished annual beach weeks with his children and grandchildren and traveled the world alongside his wife Kathy, creating memories filled with laughter and love.

Larry will be remembered for his strong faith, generous heart and the deep love he held for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife Kathy; five children Lori (Jeff Finan), Lisa (Greg Hammonds), Kristin (Scott Chomko), Michael Judge and Sarah (Scott Lumpkin); 10 grandchildren, whose lives were brightened by his warmth and humor; and three siblings Joanne Blohm Sr., Rita Claire Judge and Dan Judge. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.
