The O'Neill Lady Eagles performed well in Mid-States, landing a fifth-place rank. Last week they went back to regular play against three schools.

On Monday, Feb. 10, the Eagles hosted a strong 15-3 GACC team.

The Eagles got off to a good start, putting up 17 and holding back the Bluejays to 15. Soon enough, however, the Bluejays bit back and stole the second quarter 18-11.

From there, the Bluejays slowly began to take over the game. Despite a good start, the Eagles were forced to admit defeat in the end.

Ashley Sidak led her team with 14 points and two rebounds, Mariah Kallhoff was just behind with 12 points as well as six rebounds, Mady Heiss had seven points, Taylor Young had six, Hannah Hilker had five points and four steals, Rylee Selby had five, Olivia Young had four points and Begyn Classen ended with two rebounds.

The next day, the girls were given the chance to turn things around when they hosted Plainview.

The Eagles kicked the game off with a massive 20-4 opener and moved straight into a huge-scoring 28-20 second stanza.

The game came to a screeching halt in the third, where neither team scored. However, a further 10 points to the Eagle's name gave them the easy win for the night.

Hilker scored big with 19 points and three steals, Sidak had seven points, Taylor Young and Kallhoff had six points, Classen and Heiss had five points, Olivia Young and Selby both had four each, Taylor Cuhel had two points and Hailey Fick and Mia Lindsay both had one rebound.
