The St. Mary's Lady Cardinals traveled to Battle Creek for the Holiday Tournament. The Cards caught their first-season loss to the Battle Creek Braves, losing 50-44. The Cards had a tough one as they had trouble getting to the bucket and scored only three. The Braves racked up 20 points, with the Cards trailing by three at the half. The game was tough for both teams as their defenses kept the scores lower than usual for both teams. The third saw the Cards get within two during the third, but the Braves came through, outscoring the Cards by four in the finale for a six-point win at the buzzer. Adyson Peterson led the Cards with 11 points and had seven rebounds and one steal; Gracie Williamson and Emerson Mlnarik had 10 points each. Williamson had four rebounds and two steals; Mlnarik had five rebounds and two steals; Pyper Ickes had eight points and three rebounds; and Anna Belle Barlow had five points, two rebounds and one steal. The match was pretty low-scoring for both clubs, as the half-time score was 23-15 in favor of the Cards. The Cards kept at Braves, holding their scoring down for the win. Ickes led the Cardinals in this one, scoring 19 points and having 10 rebounds and three steals; Barlow had nine points, five rebounds and four steals; Mlnarik had seven points, four rebounds and one steal; and Williamson had four points, six rebounds and one steal.
