St. Mary's Mya Hedstrom blocks a hit by a West Holt player in action last Thursday in O'Neill. The St. Mary's Cardinal girls volleyball team traveled to Spencer to compete in the Boyd County Triangular last Tuesday, Sept. 21.
The girls played the North Central Knights and the Boyd County Spartans.
In the match against North Central the Cardinals won 2-1 winning 25-23, 22-25 and 22-15.
Leading the Cards were Mya Hedstrom with 12 kills, one block and eight digs, Lorissa Reiman eight kills, one ace serve, one block and 16 digs, Alissa Brabec four kills, one block, six digs and 26 set assists, Emma Winkelbauer four kills, one ace serve, one block and one dig, Hope Williamson four kills and seven digs.
In the second game the Cards downed the Spartans in three sets losing the first one 23-25, 25-13 and 25-16.
Hedstrom lead the Cards with 12 kills, one block and 15 digs, Reiman three kills, three ace serves, three blocks and 13 digs, Winkelbauer three kills, one ace serve, and six digs, Williamson three kills and 17 digs and Brabec, one kill, two ace serves, one block, four digs, and 17 set assists.
On Thursday, Sept. 23 the Cardinals hosted the West Holt Huskies winning in four sets, 25-14, 14-25,25-10 and 25-19.
Hedstrom led the Cards with 12 kills, three ace serves and 15 digs, Williamson five kills, two ace serves and 16 digs, Brabec one kill, two ace serves, one block, seven digs, Emma Otte one ace serve, one block and 16 digs.
On Monday, Sept 27 the Cardinals played in Stuart. The Cards lost both sets to Stuart 25-20-25-13, In game two the Cards won over Neligh/Oakdale 26-24 and 25-9.
