The St. Mary's Lady Cardinals traveled to Bloomfield last Tuesday, Jan. 11. The Lady Cards fell to the Bees by two buckets, 74-70. The Cardinals started off on the right foot leading the Bees by seven at the end of the first quarter. The Bees fought back in the second quarter out scoring the Cards and tied the game at 32 going into the half. Both teams battled in the third as the Bees only out scored the Lady Cards by four and with the fourth quarter being tied in scoring the third quarter was the key to the game. Lorrisa Reiman led the Cardinals with 20 points and 16 rebounds; Alissa Brabec 18 points and six rebounds; Mya Hedstrom 14 points, eight rebounds and four steals; Hope Williamson eight points, two rebounds and three steals; Charley Mlnarik six points, three rebounds and two steals; and Annabelle Barlow four points. SMH 18 14 20 18 70 BLF 11 21 24 18 74 On Thursday, Jan. 13 the girls traveled to Summerland to take on the Bobcats. The Lady Cards trounced the Bobcats winning 40-27. The fast paced Cardinal offense wore down the Bobcats for the 13 point win. Reiman led the Cards again with 21 points, 16 rebounds and one steal; Williamson 12 points, six rebounds and one steal; Hedstrom three points, seven rebounds and one steal; Mlnarik two points and five rebounds; and Brabec two points and four rebounds. SMH 9 10 10 11 40 SMLD 6 9 8 4 27 On Saturday, Jan. 15 the Cards traveled to Chambers to take on the CWC Renegades. The Cards made easy work of the Renegades downing them 48-16. The game was low scoring for both squads but the Cardinal defense held the Renegades to single digits in every quarter. Makenna Pelster and Hailey Gerereux led the Renegades with four points, Cheyenne Porkorny and Annabel Waldo three points each, and Ella Moses two points.
