The St. Mary's lady Cardinals showed off some impressive skills last week when they were able to defeat both Osmond and Summerland, putting them up to a five win streak currently.
The Cards first match of last week was on Tuesday, where they were pitted against the Osmond Tigers. This was a clean win for the Cards since they left little room for the Tigers to go on the offensive. The match ended in a final score of 3-0; 25-3, 25-19 and 25-6.
Lorissa Reiman led the Cards with 12 kills, one ace serve, one block and nine digs; Mya Hedstrom 11 kills, one ace serve and 10 digs; Emma Otte three kills, one ace serve and three digs; Joslyn Eby two kills, three ace serves, one block and two digs; Alissa Brabec two kills, three ace serves, six digs and 29 set assists; Emma Winkelbauer two kills and one dig; Annabelle Barlow one kill, one ace serve, seven digs and one set assist; Gracie Williamson two digs and one set assist; Hope Williamson two ace serves and four digs.
The Girl's next game brought them to Summerland last Thursday to face off with the Bobcats. This was a very close match, one more mistake on either team's part could have been the difference between winning and losing the game. This match lasted for four sets, ultimately ending in the Cardinals favor, though. The final score was 3-1; 25-18, 19-25, 25-21 and 25-18.
Leading the Cardinals this time was Hedstrom, with an impressive 22 kills, one ace serve, two blocks, 15 digs and one set assist; Reiman 21 kills, two ace serves, five blocks, 11 digs and one set assist; Brabec two kills, two ace serves, 12 digs and 42 assists; Otte two kills, four digs and one set assist; H.
