The Stuart Lady Broncos played in the Niobrara Valley Conference Volleyball Tournament this week. Monday night they were able to host at home being the #1 seed. The Broncos were matched up with CWC in the first round and were able to take them down in three sets. Strong serving and aggressive play at the net against the Renegades kept them on defense most of the game. The second round on Tuesday, the girls traveled to Santee to take on Boyd County for the third time this season. The Broncos started off strong in the first set but became complacent in the second which came down to the very end where again strong serving took over to win the set. The girls again came out in the third and got right after it with everyone playing in that set. The final game was set in Niobrara against a tough C2 school in Elgin/Elgin Pope John whom the girls lost to early in the season. The Broncos battled every set and kept the Wolfpack out of system most of the night. Really strong serving and aggressive attacking kept them on defense. But blocking by five players that night and six girls with double figure digs helped seal the win for the Broncos. The coaches are so proud how the girls did not back down and were able to capture the NVC Tournament Championship. Thank you to all the fans that supported the team and for the ones that watched. A big thank you to our student section once again!!
