Kenneth was born on Aug. 13, 1940, to Paul and Marjorie (Bemis) Lidgett of Chambers. He grew up on the family farm southeast of Chambers with his brother Darrold and attended Chambers schools, graduating in 1959. In 1961, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he returned home and married Maxine Baker, of Atkinson, with whom he had six children. Ken made a living as an over-the-road truck driver and drove literally millions of miles, many of those with his second wife Kristy Libolt of Springview, with whom he was married for 25 years. When he wasn't driving his truck, he had many hobbies over the years. He loved working in his garden, canning, cooking, ballroom dancing, music, karaoke, photography and many other things. He looked forward to traveling with his partner Linda to the South Dakota State Fair every year, often submitting paintings and photos to be judged. Kenneth is survived by his partner and close friend Linda Peer of Bartlett; one brother Darrold (Sandy) Lidgett of Norfolk; three children Joan Jakoubek of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Eric (Kim) Lidgett of Overland Park, KS and Kari (Paul) Webber of Omaha; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Marjorie, father Paul, two daughters Lori and Lisa and one son Timothy.
