The O'Neill Junior High boys track team traveled to East City Park in Ainsworth on Thursday March 30th. Cooperation from Mother Nature helped lead to some good performances in the season's inaugural event. The Eagles tallied 148.5 points and finished in second place. Valentine won with 178. O'Neill had three athletes gain first place finishes. Ryan Owen and Ryker Sudbeck won the 8th and 7th grade long jumps respectively. Owen leaped 17-10.75 and Sudbeck went 15-7.25. On the track, a racing rarity had two Eagles claiming first place in the same event. They were not alone. Owen and Nate Brown ending up comprising two-thirds of a trio that were all declared winners in the 100 meters in a time of 12.4. O'Neill's final gold came from Brown who was first across in the 800 with a time of 2:27.6.
