Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart.

Burial will be in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Stuart.

Memorials may be made to the family for future designation.

Juanita was born April 13, 1930, to Ferdinand and Rose (Wallinger) Kaup. She was a 1947 graduate of Stuart High School.

She married Andrew Hytrek on Sept. 30, 1950, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart.

Nita milked cows side-by-side with Andy during the early years of their marriage, raised flocks of chickens and turkeys for butchering and canned and froze everything that grew on a tree or in her large garden.

She always downplayed her cooking skills, but was an excellent cook and baker, making sure there were cookies, cake or pie around when kids or grandkids came home to visit.

She was a lifetime member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, a member of the church's Christian Mothers and also was a longtime leader of the Sandhills 4-H Club.

Her children lovingly agree she was one of the most stubborn people in the world, but was a pushover when it came to her grandchildren.

Nita is survived by her seven children Sally Hytrek, of Omaha, Timothy (Lori) Hytrek, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Dennis (Tonya) Hytrek and David(Kathy) Hytrek, all of Atkinson, Patrick (Tammy) Hytrek, of Stuart, Chris (Staci) Hytrek, of Cortland and Nicholas (Erin) Hytrek, of Moville, Iowa; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Andy, an infant son Andy Jr. and her five sisters and two brothers.
