Omaha — James "Jim" George Shald, 69, of Omaha, died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2022 at home with his bride in Omaha. A celebration of life service will be held later this summer in Omaha. Memorials may be made to the family for future designation. John A. Gentleman Mourtuaries and Crematory Funeral Home in Omaha is in charge of the arrangements. Jim was born to George and Mary Shald in Atkinson on April 4th, 1953. He graduated from Stuart high school in 1971 and Nebraska Technical College in Milford in 1973. He married Rosemary Shald (Ramm) at St Boniface Catholic Church in Stuart on Dec. 21st, 1973. They then built their family and “Jimmy Shald's” Carpentry business in Omaha. Whether it was cabinetry, winter sleds, props for school dances, church steeples or doll houses, Jim crafted the most beautiful wooden artwork. His passion was finding, researching and restoring antique tools and loving his grandbabies. Jim was a dear friend to so many, including relatives, neighbors, clients, those with a passion for antiques (or a couple spare hours to hear about his collection), fellow swim families, Boy Scouts or those in need of a sponsor. He supported so many people from different walks of life through their ups and downs. His huge heart, Jimmy jokes and “you betchas” will forever be missed. Jim is survived by his wife Rosemary; their four children Sarah, Michael, Miranda (Patrick) and Katie (Joe); 10 grandchildren Landon, Reese, Isabella, Quinn, Nyla, Luke, Jane, Camden, Kate and Jamie; and his siblings John, Judy Prater, LouAnn Cadwallader, Jerry and Patty Varilek. He was preceded in death by his first-born son Michael Allen and his parents George and Mary. Condolences may be left for the family at https://www.johnagentle man.com.
