Hometown Christmas Goes On Despite Bitter Cold Temps

Hometown Christmas - Santa and Mrs. Clause turned on the power to this year's Hometown Christmas Tree on Friday evening in the bitter cold.

Mcdonald's had an entry in the lighted parade, with Santa's Sleigh saying "lets do lunch."

O'Neill rotary had an entry in the lighted parade celebrating their 30th Anniversary.

Handlebend had an entry in the lighted parade with two Grinches hauling children off.

The O'Neill Hometown Christmas went off without a hitch despite the bitter cold wind chills of Friday evening.

The day started around 4 p.m. with activities for everyone at the Handlebend, including cookie decorating, soup being served and Santa and Mrs. Clause on hand to listen to the desires of the young children expecting Christmas to come in a few weeks.

The Lighted Parade started at 7 p.m. with award winners being: Christmas Star Award - Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church; Elfin Magic Award - Handlebend; Tin Soldier Award - Lori's Daycare; Santa's Sleigh Award - Jason Roeder and Melissa Theisen; Rudolph's Best Friend - Winnetoon BBQ; Fruitcake Award - McDonalds.
