John Hammerlun opens the meeting at 6:00 PM.

Present: Dan Drueke, Tom Welsh, Kevin DeKay, Dan Pribil, John Hammerlun, Dustin Breiner Supervisor and Bill Babutzke Weed Superintendent.  

Minutes Approved: Dan Drueke made a motion to approve the minutes and Dan Pribil seconded. All approved. 

Claims Approved: Tom Welsh made a motion to approve the claims and Kevin DeKay seconded. All approved.

Old Business: Discussion continued of painting or re-tin the Holt County Weed Shop the southeast corner is showing rust. Possibly painting will solve the problem of the rust advancing. Bill Babutzke will get quotes for both painting and or re-tin the shop. 

New Business: Shredding has slowed down due to low humidity. It was suggested that if the humidity is 45% or less advised not to shred as fire hazard becomes an issue. 

Bill attended the Nebraska Weed Control Association training in Norfolk. Bill reported back with captivating information on the chemical Roundup, how it is shipped to America and what it takes to transform it to liquid. The cost of Roundup will be substantially higher this year. More training will follow this year.

Claim C & R Supply, plunger valve is to fix the sprayer for the passenger side of Unit 803.  

Discussion of “hot spots” in the county were pointed out, along with land owners' calling in with questions of how to address Leafy Spurge. 

Bill Babutzke reports that the summer employees will return with possible one new person. 

Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the neweed.org website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. 

Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge.

Next Meeting will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday March 10, 2022.

Dan Pribil made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Kevin DeKay seconded. All approved.
