On Sunday, Sept.1 at approximately 5:30 p.m. a black Ford pickup traveling westbound on Hwy.20 near Atkinson was reported as driving erratically and throwing beer cans out of the window. A deputy from the Holt County Sheriff's Office located the vehicle westbound through Atkinson. As the Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, the vehicle accelerated at speeds of 90 miles an hour westbound out of Atkinson. A pursuit was initiated westbound on Hwy. 20. The black Ford reached speeds of 120 miles an hour. The pursuit continued westbound into Rock County. The black Ford proceeded off road into pastures driving through fences and into a standing corn field. The black Ford continued driving into the standing cornfield for approximately 100 yards, before coming to a stop. The two individuals inside the vehicle exited the vehicle and fled on foot in the standing corn field. The two individuals were located approximately 200 yards from the truck, lying in the corn field. Both individuals were taken into custody and booked on several charges.
