Date: 8-12-2025 The Holt County Weed Board met in regular session. This meeting was publicized pursuant to Section 84-1411 R.R.S, 1943 Notice of meeting given in advance thereof by publication in paper as shown by Affidavit of Publication on KBRX August 12, 2025, on the radio. Dan Pribil convened the meeting at 7:00 P.M. and informed the public of the location of the Open Meeting Poster. The meeting started at 7:00 P.M. Present: Dan Pribil, Caleb Ross, Dan Drueke, Tom Welsh, Supervisor Dustin Breiner and Weed Superintendent William Babutzke. Minutes Approved: made a motion to approve the minutes by Caleb Ross and Dan Pribil seconded. All approved Claims Approved: made a motion to approve the claims by Tom Welsh and Caleb Ross seconded. All approved Public comments: None were made There were no claims to be pre-approved. Old Business: N/A New Business: The weed department uses an app called Weed Mapper. The app does a lot of work and saves a lot of time. Brett Meyer is building a new app that will be more user friendly. NWCA is paying for it. NRD and NET grant money. Bill talked with UENRD and LNNRD about a pledge of money to match the NET grant $6,000 grant for 3 years with matching grant money. The LNNRD already pledged $6000 a year for three years and will find out later about the UENRD pledge. This money will be used on river systems and lower areas to eradicate invasive weeds. The board discussed bill paying with nothing for sure yet. Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the neweed.org website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge.
