Holt County Department of Weeds Proceedings (6-08-2023)

Dan Pribil called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm

Present: Dan Drueke, Tom Welsh, Kevin DeKay, Dan Pribil, Supervisor Dustin Breiner and Weed Superintendent William Babutzke. 

Excused: John Hammerlun 

Minutes Approved: Dan Drueke made a motion to approve the minutes and Tom Welsh seconded. All approved

Claims Approved: Kevin DeKay made a motion to approve the claims and Dustin Breiner seconded. All approved.

Old Business: Shop Tin.  A small change made for the sky light, will ask to have them removed. Going with Option 1 and 2, D and J Construction LLC.

New Business: Olivia Wolken with the Nebraska Department of Agriculture was here to look at one open file. The owner is making progress. The board reviewed inspections. 

Leafy Spurge Working Task Force will be held in O'Neill August 14th and 15th, 2023. The itinerary will be at the Handlebend. The tour will be in Holt, Knox and Boyd Counties.  

Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the neweed.org website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. 

Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge.

Next Meeting will be Thursday June 8, at 7:00 PM at the Weed Department Office.  

Kevin DeKay made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Dan Drueke seconded. All approved. 

Meeting adjourned at 7:38pm.
