Chair John Hammerlun called the meeting to order at 7:00 pm

Present: Dan Drueke, Tom Welsh, Kevin DeKay, Dan Pribil, Chair John Hammerlun and Bill Babutzke Weed Superintendent.

Excused: Supervisor Dustin Breiner 

Minutes Approved: Kevin DeKay made a motion to approve the minutes and Dan Drueke seconded. All approved

Claims Approved: Dan Pribil made a motion to approve the claims and Tom Welsh seconded. All approved.

Old Business: The decision to tin the building rather than paint was made. Two quotes will be obtained.      

New Business: Last two weeks shredding has been done in the south part of the county. The skid loader has 180 hours on the machine. Conditions in the next three weeks will determine if shredding will be done in the Northwest area of the county, possibly near Emmet and Atkinson.

Phragmites is a noxious weed that is moving into upland low areas. Aquatic Round Up, Habitat, Polaris are suggested.  For proper application rates please read labels.  

Information on the following list of twelve noxious weeds found in Nebraska can be located at the neweed.org website with sufficient information on each noxious weed. 

Canada Thistle, Musk Thistle, Plumeless Thistle, Purple Loosestrife, Spotted Knapweed, Diffuse Knapweed, Saltcedar, Phragmites, Giant Knotweed, Japanese Knotweed, Sericea Lespedeza, Leafy Spurge.

Next Meeting will be Thursday April 13, at 7:00 PM at the Weed Department Office.  

Dan Pribil made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Tom Welsh seconded. All approved. 

Meeting adjourned at 7:46 pm.
